Women in Quiet Rebellion

A photographic art series dedicated to giving women who didn’t have a voice a way to be seen.

The series is a quiet reflection on how women were treated throughout history, the minor roles they could play in society, and how they had to follow conventions, keeping their freedom to be themselves inside, rebelling quietly.

The project aims to grow louder with every progressive era until we see women’s rights being celebrated at last!

This series starts with the Renaissance period, inspired by Renaissance and Baroque paintings by artists like Artemisia Gentileschi, with a strong focus on light, shadows, and shimmering fabrics. But also the bewildering look of a woman who had to hide from who she really was.
